"Archidamas" statue was produced in a neoclassical academic style, which is why Philippe Lemaire was commissioned for several portraits and busts of famous people.

Artist

Philippe Joseph Henri Lemaire (1798-1880) was a French sculptor, working in a neoclassical academic style. He was a pupil of Pierre Cartellier, and won the Prix de Rome for sculpture in 1821.
